Well, I think I am finally getting serious about this game design thing. Below I will list some of the things that are in process, or have been done so far. At the end of the blog I will try to describe my current state of mind. (Spoiler alert, I think I have gone crazy…)
Current Active Games
I have been trying to have a daily presence on social media. I have been writing posts, responding to posts, etc. on Facebook, the Board Game Designers Forum, Tabletop Generation, and Just Because Games.
This takes a lot more time than I thought it would. It's pretty fun though. I have selected these sites because they seem to have the nicest people associated with them. They are helpful and don't try to cut other people down.
I have put two games on Tabletopia: Mosaic and Skydive!. I think this is a good platform for putting virtual games out there for people to try before hopefully buying a real version.
Print and Play
In an effort to make it as easy as possible to try Just Because Games, I have offered two Print and Play games on my website: Skydive! and Mosaic. Additionally, I have run a Facebook ad targeted at teachers for the Print and Play versions of both games.
Current State of Mind
I'm pretty sure I'm crazy. Having said that, I have really high hopes for both City Park and POTUS SOS. They have been doing well in playtesting. Also, I have a Kickstarter Budget for both games that indicates there is a chance that a Kickstarter campaign could break even! Yay. The big thing for me, I think, is to get Just Because Games out there. It's proving to be really hard. I guess that's just how it is.
